Wear heavy gloves and use the tin snips to carefully trim the duct section to the required length. Dry fit the vent cap and mark the position of the corner mounting holes on the stucco. Mount a tube of outdoor quality silicone sealant into a caulking gun and run a zigzag bead of silicone onto the rear-facing flange of the vent cap. Slide the vent cap into place and secure it with the bolts provided with the anchors.
Wipe off excess silicone with a damp rag. Run a thin bead of silicone caulk onto the joint between the stucco and the vent cap to finish the mounting procedure.
Lift the microwave with the help of your assistant. Feed the power cord through the hole in the side cabinet and hook the rear of the microwave onto the tabs on the wall-mounting plate. Have your assistant support the microwave while you reinstall the mounting screws through the side walls of the adjacent wall cabinets.
Fill a microwave-proof mug with water and place it inside the microwave. Close the door. Turn the microwave on and then check for air movement on the outside vent cap opening to ensure that the vent and fan are working properly.
